Silicon Carbide refractories are produced from silicon carbide, a raw material synthesized in a resistance-type electric furnace at temperatures exceeding 2500°C, through the reaction of silica with carbon. They have a thermal conductivity ten times that of fireclay refractories, good corrosion and thermal shock resistance, and can be formed into complex shapes. They can withstand slag attack and flame erosion.
Nitride-bonded Silicon Carbide refractories have high thermal conductivity, superior thermal shock and oxidation resistance. They also have higher hot strength compared to oxide bonded Silicon Carbide refractories. This makes them an idle choice as kiln furniture. Their non-wetting property makes them suitable for use in non-ferrous metal contact areas.
Our accessories are used for anchoring and assembling refractory ceramic fiber linings or for reinforcing monolithic linings of castables, plastics or ramming mixes. We customize the accessories to save time and money in installation and upkeep of refractory lining.
